We finally finished renovating the inside of our house. I’ve shown you our kitchen makeover but I’ve been slacking on the rest of the house. I’d love to be able to show you the rest of the house but it’s taking longer than we anticipated to decorate. Since the renovation happened to fast and furious, we wanted to relax a little and enjoy the decorating process. We’ve also been scouring craigslist and thrift stores for furniture and decor. We’ve found a few good finds but we’re not done just yet. As soon as we are then I’ll be sure to share.
In the meantime, we’ve started renovating our entire yard. We’re breaking up the renovation into two separate phases: front and back yard. The first phase will be the back yard. I’m going to document the process starting with phase 1. Here is the before . . .
Here's a view from the hill looking down.
The second phase will be the front yard. Here is the before . . .
As you can see, the yard is a disaster! It’s mostly over grown weeds and wild animals. Seriously, we’ve seen lizards, rats, rabbits, hawks, cranes, boa constrictors and even a rattlesnake. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve run screaming from the yard to the house. It’s a mess.
Stay tuned! Next week I’ll introduce the back yard design and show more before photos. In the meantime, be sure to follow along the renovation on instagram using the hashtag #BethHomeProject.

Living room Renovation: Before and After
Renee says
Hi Beth! Just came across your site! We are in the beginning stages of redoing our pool. We are also in SD. What is the name of the tile store that you mentioned for the pool? Thx!
Beth says
We used NPT tile and visited the showroom at SCP Distributors. However NPT has it's own showroom in El Cajon.
We also used San Diego Pools as our contractor. They use this company which is why we went with it.
