    How to Pan Fry Chicken

The key to pan fry chicken is to use a really hot pan. Heat the frying pan over high heat and make sure it’s hot before adding the chicken. The meat should sizzle. If it doesn’t, your pan isn’t hot yet. Then you need to leave it there. Resist the urge to poke, flip or cut the chicken. Let them cook about 4 minutes and then flip. If you poke, flip or cut the chicken, you will release the juices. You want to let the chicken sit for a few minutes after the chicken is finished cooking to let those juices absorb back into the chicken. Seriously, this is the best way to cook chicken breast and thighs.

You may need to cook this recipe in batches unless you've got an oversized pan. Most pans are 12 inch but if you’ve got an oversized one (about 18inches) then you can do this all in one batch. I have one and it's amazing. I can cook two pounds of chicken or 4 heads of broccoli at one time. It's amazing!

I tried to find a similar one on amazon but this size is more for professionals so they aren’t commonly found. This is more of a professional item so I was able to find one online at a kitchen supply store. If you have questions about finding safer pans, check out my Best Pans for Chemical Free Cooking post.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds Skinless Boneless Chicken Thighs and/or Breasts (if your breasts are more than 1 inch thick cut in half the long way)
    • 2 tablespoon Italian seasonings  (homemade is best)
    • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Avocado Oil would be a good alternative)

    Instructions

    • Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
    • Using your hands rub the seasonings and oil all over the chicken.
    • Heat a large frying pan over high heat.
    • Once the pan is hot, start adding the chicken. Don’t over crowd the pan. Unless you have an oversized pan, you may need to cook the chicken in two batches.
    • Cook for about 4 minutes on each side.

    Notes
