4. Sprinkle parsley over the top to garnish.
Tips for making the BEST Air Fryer Radishes
- To cook in the oven, preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Add the all the ingredients into a 9x13 baking dish and toss. Place the baking dish into the oven and let roast for 10 minutes and then toss. Place back in the oven and let cook for another 10 minutes or until the radishes are fork tender.
- Make sure to use onion and garlic powder not garlic or onion salt.
- Lard is used in this recipe, but you could use an oil of your choice. I used it because lard adds another flavor to the dish. It’s almost buttery. I liked the subtle flavor, but it will still taste good if you use another oil.
What can I do with a bag of radishes?
Until recently, I hadn’t considered doing anything with radishes beyond eating them raw, pickling them or just as a garnish. But cooking them is a great way to use up a big bunch of radishes.
Plus, it provides variety into your diet. When I started the AIP diet, I realized that if I’m going to exclude so many foods from my diet, I needed to add in some new veggies. Radishes were one of those veggies. I really wanted to love them but eating them raw just wasn’t always an option, so I tried braising them. I loved them braised but it required more attention than I was willing to give. Then I tried air fryer roasted radishes and it was just so much easier. This is one of those no fuss recipes that are totally satisfying.
Are radishes low carb?
Yes, cooked radishes in the air fryer are low carb and a healthy alternative to roasted potatoes when cooked. Or a great addition to roasted potatoes. Cooking gives roasted radishes a very similar texture to potatoes. Although the flavor is a bit sweeter.
Can I air fry radishes?
Yes. It’s a faster and easy way to cook radishes. You can always roast them in the oven (see the notes for instructions), but this air fryer recipe makes it go much faster.
What do air fried radishes taste like?
Radishes in the air fryer taste completely different than raw ones. Raw radishes have a sharp, almost spicy flavor. My father loves to nibble on raw radishes, so they were always around when I was a kid. My dad used to sneak them into salads, but I never really enjoyed the strong and spicy flavor. When cooked, they are no longer spicy, they are slightly sweet and a bit savory with the texture of potatoes.
Air Fryer vs. Deep Fryer
An air fryer is very different than a deep fryer. An air fryer is like a mini oven that allows the air to circulate around whatever you’re cooking. A deep dryer submerges whatever you’re making in boiling oil. The air fryer is easier, less messy and requires a lot less oil. However, deep fryers are especially good at getting whatever you’re cooking, crispy on the outside like French fries. Nothing beats deep fried French fries!
Air Fryer Recommendations
I’m currently using an older air fryer model from Costco. It’s like this model. However, the capacity is small, and the machine take up a lot of space. I’d prefer to have a toaster oven/air fryer. It can be used for multiple purposes and has a larger capacity for cooking or baking. I’ve seen really good reviews on this model.

Helpful Info for All Recipes
- I always use extra virgin olive oil in all of my recipes unless stated otherwise.
- I always use Himalayan sea salt or Celtic sea salt, unless otherwise noted.
- The majority of my recipes are strict AIP or include notations for reintroductions. However while I make every effort to label non-AIP ingredients and recipes sometimes they slip past me. If you have questions, please ask in advance.
